Music Ministry Overview

Music ministry is a vital part of our worship and service to the Lord. We have a music director who works closely with our pastor to plan all traditional and contemporary services, and leads the choir and praise team band.

Our traditional services closely follows liturgical divine services from the Lutheran Service Book. In addition to liturgy, congregational singing is primarily hymns accompanied by an organist. Special music is provided by the choir on special occasions, and usually twice a month at regular services during the school year. Other musicians prepare a musical offering during the rest of the year.

Our contemporary services feature a variety of Christian music blended with contemporary liturgy taken from Creative Worship. Congregational singing is led by our Praise Team, which includes piano, bass, guitar, drums, singers and other instrumentation. On occasion the praise team or other musicians will prepare a special song for worship, and the choir usually sings twice a month at this service also.

Service Opportunities:

Singers can join the Praise Team, which rehearses on Thursday nights at 5:15pm.   It is open to children of all ages, but consists mostly of adult men and women. We sing a variety of sacred songs including classical, gospel, hymns, spirituals and contemporary music. No audition is required and basic music instruction is provided to those who need assistance. If you like to sing and have never sung in a choir before, give it a chance--you’ll love it!

Instrumentalists can regularly play in our church praise team band, which includes piano, bass, guitar drums, singers and other instrumentalists. Praise team practices on Thursdays at 5:15 pm year round.

Sound Board Operators provide vital sound reinforcement for our services, and also record them to share our worship with shut-ins, and those unable to attend for whatever reason.

Special Music: There are numerous opportunities for musicians of all ages to provide musical offerings to enhance our worship. Please contact our music director if you have a talent you wish to share.

Organists/Keyboardists are paid a stipend to help provide music at every service.

Currently the Music Director position is open until filled.
